The product

Radish Mobile is an anonymous community platform for radiology professionals to share cases, discuss findings, and communicate with peers. It combines case-based discussions, real-time messaging, contribution rewards, and community moderation in a mobile application for Android and iOS.

Purpose

Radish Mobile was designed to create a space where radiology professionals could exchange knowledge through case discussions while participating anonymously within the community.

The product centered on sharing cases and receiving input from other members. Alongside public discussions, users could communicate through individual and group conversations.

The platform also included a contribution-reward system using Radcoin, with author-rated comments providing a way to recognize useful responses. Moderation, blocking, and administration features supported the management of the community.

My work

My work covered mobile development, backend integration, real-time functionality, wallet and contract integration, administration features, and app-store submission. I worked across the application’s case discussions, messaging, notifications, rewards, community controls, and release workflow.

Case sharing and discussion

Case posts formed the core of the community experience. Users could publish cases and participate in discussions through comments, bringing the case and its responses together in one place.

The discussion functionality included:

  • Case-based community posts.
  • Comments and responses from other members.
  • Author ratings for comments.
  • Real-time comment updates.
  • Notifications for relevant activity.

My work included connecting these interactions to the mobile interface and backend so users could follow discussions as new contributions arrived.

Anonymous community participation

Anonymous participation was a central product requirement. The community experience allowed members to contribute without presenting their real-world identity publicly.

This shaped how participation appeared throughout the application, including posts, comments, and member interactions. The product also provided blocking and moderation controls to help manage those interactions.

Real-time messaging

Radish Mobile included both one-to-one and group chat, allowing conversations to continue beyond case discussion threads.

The messaging functionality supported direct exchanges between members and discussions involving multiple participants. My work covered real-time integration and the mobile interfaces used to access and participate in conversations.

These features gave users separate spaces for community-wide case discussions and more focused communication.

Notifications and live updates

The application included real-time notifications and comment updates to help users follow activity within the community.

Implementing these features required coordinating incoming events with the mobile interface so new activity could appear without relying entirely on manual refreshes. My work involved integrating this behavior across the relevant application flows and keeping the displayed information aligned with backend activity.

Radcoin rewards and wallet integration

The platform included Radcoin rewards as part of its contribution system, alongside author-rated comments.

I worked on the wallet and contract integration supporting the application’s reward-related functionality. This connected the community-facing product with its blockchain-related components and spanned the mobile experience and the integrations needed to support those features within the broader application.

Moderation, blocking, and administration

Radish Mobile included community-management features alongside its user-facing functionality. These covered content moderation, user blocking, administrative management of community content, and supporting interfaces for platform administration.

My work included administration features as well as the mobile interactions associated with community controls.

Mobile application development

The application was built with React Native and Expo for Android and iOS.

My work covered the mobile experience across case discussions, messaging, notifications, rewards, and backend-connected functionality. This involved bringing several distinct interactions into one application while maintaining consistent navigation and behavior.

The development work also included framework upgrades and build maintenance to keep the application compatible with its release requirements.

Backend integration

Supabase formed part of the application’s backend stack.

I worked on connecting the mobile application to backend functionality for the community experience, including data-driven screens and real-time interactions. This required coordinating application state, backend responses, and live updates across features such as discussions, messaging, and notifications.

Builds, deployment, and store submission

My involvement extended through the release process. For Android, I handled developer-account setup, build preparation, framework upgrades, submission requirements, and Google Play submission. I also optimized the EAS build workflow, including incremental-build improvements, and produced multiple builds during release preparation.

The application was submitted to both Google Play and Apple’s App Store. I also updated the supporting website with the Android store link.

Key engineering challenges

One of the main challenges was coordinating several real-time experiences within the same mobile application. Case discussions, chat, comments, and notifications each introduced updates that needed to appear consistently in the interface.

Anonymous participation also had to coexist with practical community controls, including blocking, moderation, and administration.

The reward functionality added wallet and contract integration to a product primarily centered on professional discussion. This required connecting those capabilities to the community experience without treating them as a separate application.

Release preparation was another substantial part of the work, involving framework compatibility, repeated builds, build optimization, developer-account configuration, and store-submission requirements.

Delivered scope

Radish Mobile brought anonymous case discussions, author-rated comments, individual and group messaging, real-time updates, Radcoin rewards, and community-management tools into a cross-platform mobile application.

The project reflects my experience working across React Native development, backend and blockchain integrations, real-time community features, and the practical work required to prepare and submit mobile applications to app stores.

The Google Play listing provides the current public store reference. Product, deployment, and contribution details are presented as my reported project scope rather than as an independent security, privacy, or production audit. The selected screens show the feed and case-posting experience; confirm final redaction and publishing permission before public launch.
